A RUSSIAN GIRL ON “25 MARCH STREET” IN BRAZIL!

September 10th, 2014

It was really fun to take my Russian fiance from Ufa, a cold city, very quiet and reserved for walking the busy and crazy 25 March Street in Sao Paulo. My stay in the largest city of Brazil could not miss a little visit on “25 March Street”. Dina Nigmatullina loved being able to find almost everything just in one place with very cheap prices. I leave here my constructive criticism for mayor of São Paulo. This street is a very famous destination for all tourists. The place could be more clean, safe, more police, and some tourist information points would also not bad either. I still believe that one day my country can offer quality services for everyone like in others cities all of the world: in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and others. Let’s Brazil, it’s time to wake up to reality!

AMP STORE – THE PRIEST WOMAN

September 9th, 2014

Today the nostalgia feeling came over to me in São Paulo to review the AMP_A Mulher do Padre store – “The Priest Woman”. My history with AMP marked my youth time with unforgettable moments. For example, I got one jeans with suspenders and a pink shirt that I’ll never forget. All these things happened in 2003 when was living in Sao Jose do Rio Preto. That time AMP was recruitment shop sellers for the store in Rio Preto Mall. Fortunately I was hired to work with the most nicely brand in that moment. The opportunity that I got to work came from the manager Aline Prado. She recruited and taught me the best sales skills. I improved these skills to use on cruise ships. The AMP is a very famous store in São Paulo. The brand was created 15 years ago from the union of the designers “Vinicius Campion” and “Paula Ferrali”. Paula born in Buenos Aires and Vinicius in São Paulo…

The proposal from them was creating something to exceed many styles with the construction of an identity from the undesirable. The inspiration came from both the infant universe with the game “the first come last will be the priest’s wife and other participants impose a punishment for who lose”. The AMP’s design is modern and done by professionals who like to express their color humorous prints. Most of AMP’s pieces are a mix of different cultures: African, Asian, Arab, European and Israeli. To do not mention the hybrid culture that transforms AMP’s products unique pieces. The AMP store is located on Augusta Street, 2455 in São Paulo. I recommend the nicely shop seller “Vanessa Monteiro” who gave to me the best service this afternoon. If you wanna know more about AMP visit www.amulherdopadre.com | Phone: 55 (11) 30628347 | Facebook: AMP Tshirt Store.

TIPS FROM PUNTA CANA!

September 5th, 2014

The first hint for who are going to Punta Cana is keeping in the pocket or hand luggage few dollars. Arriving in the Airport of Punta Cana, before crossing the immigration you have to pay USD10.00 per person for “Tarjeta del Turista” – Tourist Card. What Is this for? For nothing, just one way the government created to win some extra money. Second important tip; if you’ll exchange dollars for Dominican pesos in the airport, change only few. The exchange rate from the airport is very low. The airport exchange paid for USD1.00 like P$37.00 Dominican pesos. You can exchange dollars in the mall, supermarket, restaurants or hotels for P$43.00 much better! A taxi from the airport to “El Cortecito” one of the most tourist place in Punta Cana cost around P$1.400 pesos, like USD32.00. After twenty minutes negotiating with the taxi driver I got a discount. Third tip: choose one good month for your trip. I went in August considered low season. The beaches were more empty and clean with more privacy…

for me and my fiancé. The high season starts from November to March. In this time Punta Cana receives thousands tourists, a lot of them from Russia. Do not be surprised if every ten meters you find signs written in Russian. November is the month of Brazilians. Anyway, during 12 months hundred thousand people visiting this tropical paradise with warm waters and beauty landscapes. The fourth tip is very nice. It’s normal walking on the streets and come hundreds of motorcycle taxis offering their service. They are local Dominicans working to take tourists around the Island. The price you have to negotiate and the number of people is not a problem. I’ve seen bikers carrying couples with children. Every two minutes comes one motorcycle to you. They don’t wear helmets and they are friendly and safe. I took many times with my girlfriend. The last tip is to buy a Dominicans’ cigar. Talking to a friend, he told me that from 20 cigars most consumed in the world 15 comes from Dominican Republic. Good trip!

For one week I ate in many restaurants: Italian, Cuban, Asia, Mexican, Dominican and French. Write now an important hint: Most of the restaurants charges in addition in the final bill 18% of tax and 10% of service charge. It is mandatory to pay. There are few restaurants stand out communicating that does not charge fees. The best restaurant was “Carpe Diem” with contemporary food. Anywhere around the world I traveled, the first day is the one I take to adapt myself. Arriving at the hotel I checked if everything in the room was working well. The receptionist very friendly gave to me a tourist map to explorer the around of El Cortecito neighborhood. The Bavaro beach, the closest one from my hotel was just five minutes walking. Walking along the beach I noticed there were several resorts offering various services to the guests. Here’s a tip for who do not stay in resorts and not rented a beach chair. In front of the resorts there are hundreds of lounge with chairs for the guests staying in her delicious sunbathing. Every hour the guard control comes to inspect is any tourist was sitting in those chairs. Sometimes the guard stays hours without going on the beach and I saw many people from outside using the resort’s chairs. Sun chairs was looking so comfortable. I emphasize that I am not inducing anyone to use the chairs without authorization. I chosen a simple hotel without all inclusive system, so, I decided from the first day to the last one to eat in different restaurants.

After working nine months on board a cruise ship, nothing better than a vacation in Caribbean. The chosen destination: Punta Cana. While planning the trip I search some prices in the largest tour operator in Latin America, CVC. The packages offered by travel agent were those five-star resorts on the beach with everything included. The price per couple with ticket, hotel and food was USD2.500 to USD3.500. If you think is expensive, don’t worry, you can do like me, I book all services on the Internet. The first purchase was the tickets that I found a promotion go and return for USD750.00 per person from Sao Paulo to Punta Cana. I booked good hotel very cheap by www.booking.com, one week for USD250.00 without breakfast. conditioning cold shower, refrigerator, TV and free internet. The only bad score of this post goes to airline that gave a bad service. On the first way was not any hot food served during eight hours flight, just one sandwich. Another thing, my seats were 31A and 32B located in the end of corridor. When you opened the luggage compartment I realized it was no more space for the hand luggage, because there were a lot of staffs from the airline. I asked for the fly attendant where there is more empty space. The answer was short: “when you enter the aircraft you should have taken the empty places that were in the beginning or middle of the plane to accommodate your belongings”. Imagine, it so uncomfortable get walking in the aircraft’s corridor aisle disturbing the passengers every time because I needed to take something in my luggage. Anyway, cheap ticket, cheap service!
